Problem
An independent artist needed a bilingual artist portfolio website to present their work, creative vision, and professional presence in a way that felt expressive rather than commercial. The site had to support both Spanish and English, with clear and intuitive navigation between languages.
There was no existing visual identity or website structure in place. The artist needed guidance on branding, layout, and content organisation, while keeping the platform simple enough to manage independently.
Solution
I developed the full bilingual artist portfolio website concept from scratch, beginning with a custom logo and a visual direction shaped around the artist’s medium, tone, and personality. The design approach was intentionally clean and image-focused, allowing the artwork to remain the central element of the experience.
The website was built in WordPress using a builder to allow easy future edits, while all styling was handled with custom CSS and HTML to maintain precise control over layout, spacing, and typography. This ensured flexibility without compromising the visual integrity of the site.
A bilingual content structure was implemented with clear language toggles, allowing all pages, portfolio entries, and written content to be managed in both Spanish and English directly from the WordPress dashboard. The result is a responsive, accessible browsing experience across devices that remains consistent in both languages.
Result
The final bilingual artist portfolio website, SoniaMorente.com, is elegant, responsive, and easy to maintain without technical assistance. It clearly reflects the artist’s identity while providing a structured and accessible way to present artwork, exhibitions, and written content in two languages.
The client was especially pleased with the custom logo, the visual cohesion of the site, and the simplicity of the admin experience, which allows them to update and grow the portfolio independently.
